- Matters arising from the meeting 17th November 2023

- Mud on the highway School Road opposite Sharp Tor bungalow has been reported to Devon Highways. They attended 27.11.23 and could find no trace of the problem.
- The overgrown hedge at the same location was reported to Highways. They have responded that the problem does not meet their criteria so no further action will be taken.
- Devon Highways community officer has responded to reports of damage to the grass verge at the top of Gorge Hill. They will not get “involved” as there were no identified offenders, and the verge is not on the carriageway.
- Cllr Gilpin now has clerk’s access to parish council website.
- Lengthsman equipment is now with Cllr Hulett.
- Home Guard Bench – Gorge Hill
To approve the cost of relocating the bench to a safer place away from the carriageway.
The Home Guard bench at the top of Gorge Hill can be moved. It has been estimated that simple removal and relocation will cost £70 – £100 depending on materials that need purchasing. This does not include removing moss and ivy, which will cost more. Any damaged sections of timber will need replacing if found, but an estimate cannot be provided.
- Car Park
Proposal to request meeting with DNPA on the question of parking charges. (Cllr Moyse).
- Playground
Request for an update on the status of the identified repairs (Cllr Hulett).
- Community Emergency Response Plan
To provide an update on the status of the Plan. (Cllr Hulett).
- Clerk’s Salary
To approve an increase in Clerk’s salary equivalent to one additional hour each week, effective from 1stDecember 2023.
New national pay scales have been agreed, backdated to the start of April.
The suggested one extra hour’s pay each week would result in a monthly increase in staffing costs of £56.00.

To consider a proposal from Cllr Hulett that the council contribute towards the cost of installing the village Christmas tree outside Nicholls Hall.
